Check keywords related to your desired niche to find out their earnings per click. Once you have picked a high paying niche, take some of those highest paying keywords and base your site around them. Devote a single page or blog post to each keyword you select.
So if I find that garden sheds have a high cost per click on Adwords and that the 3 highest paying keywords were:
Luxury garden shed
Oak garden shed
Best garden shed
I would make a site or blog about garden sheds and make three pages. One about "luxury garden sheds" another page about "oak garden sheds" and a third about "best garden shed". Include you keywords in your page a couple of times, 5 should be more than enough. Don't over do it or Google will see it as spam trying to manipulate its search engine rankings.
Now before you go away making sites there is another important factor to consider. Competition for keywords. Having high paying keywords is great but if you cant get any traffic to your site you wont have anyone to click on your ads. So next thing we need to do is to find which niches have relatively low levels of competition.
The first step is to Google your desired keywords and look at the number of results that are displayed. This is shown on the top right of Google just above the search results. Look for keywords with below 5 million results or the competition will be too high for you to get listed for your keywords.
The next step is to analyse the competition in more detail. Look more closely at the competition. Look though the first 10 results which will be the first page of results. Open each page and use the google page rank tool on the google toolbar to see what the page rank the homepage of each site is. If the page rank of the first 10 sites exceeds PR3 then you might as well forget about it. It would take you too long to be able to compete with them and you are better of investing your time in a less competitive niche. Try to find keywords that have competitors with under PR2 sites. Obviously the lower the PR the better.
More advanced users will also use a backlink checker to analyse the number of quality of backlinks that each competitor possess. The fewer links they have the better.
If by this point you find that the competition for your selected niche and keywords is too high, start the whole process again until you find a low competitive niche with a set of good paying keywords.
Once you have settled on a niche and set of high paying keywords you can start making your site or blog. Make an article about 500 words long for each of your pages and integrate Adsense ads on each page.
Summary:
- Use Adwords to find high paying keywords
- Select a coupe of the highest paying keywords
- Check the competition levels on Google - the number of search results
- Check the PR of the top 10 sites on Google for your keywords
- Analyse the links of those top 10 sites
- Create a blog or site based on the niche of your selected keywords
- Make a separate page for each set of keywords
The next step is to get your site or blog indexed and ranked well on Google so that you get some traffic to click on your ads. The way to do this is to get other sites to link to yours via a simple text link. Get links by:
- Submit your site to about 1000 directories - You might want to pay someone to do this for you. Prices start around $15 for 1000 submissions
- Search through related site on Google and find a contact email address to which you need to send a request to exchange links
- Write a couple more articles or pay someone to write them for you and submit them to article directories such as Ezine articles with your url in the article footer to gain a backlink
- Post on related forums to your niche with a link to your site in your forum signature. Make sure the forum doesn't use the "rel=no follow" tag so your backlinks count
Repeat steps 2 and 3 as much as you can. The more links you gain the higher you will climb the search engine rankings. Below you can see greater details about how to complete steps 2 and 3.
Link exchanges
There are two key factors to consider when trying to obtain backlinks. The first is the page rank (PR) of the page that your link will appear. The higher the page rank the more value that backlink will have. The second factor is the number of other outgoing links, that is the number of links that are going to other websites from the page that your link is on. The higher the number of these outgoing links the less value your link will have and the benefit of the links is divided between the number of links that exist. Therefore get the highest PR links that you can on pages with the least number of outgoing links on them.
Article submission
Google "article directories" and you will find hundreds of article directories. The process is simple. Sign up, write and article and create a footer for each article stating information about the author and possessing a link back to your site. Once the article is posted on the directory your site will gain a backlink. The good thing about article directories is that anyone is free to take an article and publish in on their own site. Every time that happens you gain another link from a new site potentially unlimiting the amount of links that one article can bring you.
This method can also be adapted by contacting website owners asking them to place your article on their site directly and is a good way to persuade website owners to give you a backlink.
Use this method to create as many site and get as many links for each of them as you can. You should slowly see the money start to role in from Adsense. The experienced internet entrepreneurs will also add affiliate products to this mix where along with your Adsense ads you sell affiliate products by recommending products or services for a commission.
An alternative for this method for those that do not want to use Adsense is to only use affiliate products. You can create whole sites or just a single page landing page to try to sell a product. In either case still get as many links for that landing page as you can. The golden rule to remember I that traffic will bring you money and the way to get traffic is to have enough content and enough backlinks.
Affiliate marketing
If you don't want to make a site or blog or even a landing page you can still promote affiliate products though forums, classified ad sites ands social sites such as Facebook, Myspace and Bebo.
The trick to affiliate marketing is to select the right product or service to promote. Just like with developing niche sites to you want to find high paying affiliate products with low competition and use search engines to get traffic to landing pages that you create which are designed to sell the product.
